Internet for parents

My first contact with a PC was at the age of 12. In those days, PC's were expensive and not many kids were lucky enough to be able to learn the basics of that "machine".
Nowdays, even babies learn at the computer, but still... some parents sometimes are just to afraid to learn its mysteries.
Here is a heartwarming comedy of parents using a computer for the first time to communicate with their son in America.

Dots

"When I was a little kid, I used to put my face on the pages of some magazine and I was amazed because it was just a mass of dots. I think life is like that sometimes, but I like to think that form God's perspective, life, everything, even this... makes sense. It's not just dots. Instead we're all connected... and it's beautiful, and it's funny... and it's good. From this close we can't expect it to make sense right now"... but some time, it will.

I am

I am a smoker
I am a believer
I am a sinner
I am a forgiver

I am what I was meant to be
I am what others tought of me
I am what you can not see
But still, I am me

And if...

And If...

And if the branches tap my pane
And the poplars whisper nightly,
It is to make me dream again
I hold you to me tightly.

And if the stars shine on the pond
And light its sombre shoal,
It is to quench my mind's despond
And flood with peace my soul.

And if the clouds their tresses part
And does the moon outblaze,
It is but to remind my heart
I long for you always.

This is one of my favorite poems from Mihai Eminescu.

Romanian Language and Foreign Languages

Romanian, a Latin based language which is a continuation of the Latin spoken in ancient times in Dacia and Moesia — the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire.
A 31-letter Latin alphabet is in use.

Ethnic minorities (Hungarian and German) use their own languages in school and civil administration.

Literacy rate in Romania is 98% ... at least this is what I found on the net sources.

Most Romanians living in towns and cities are able to communicate in English, French or German. In smaller villages only younger people and children speak one or more foreign languages.

Romanians are not stupid, but surely they are stubborn and sometimes not so open-minded.

"Freedom" after '89 was not such a great freedom, but still, the gates to knowledge and the free spirit of Romanians gave the country the will to survive and be strong as a nation.

We might not be the Europeans that the other Europeans want, but we surely try to stand out proud.

Stefy Alternativ - Take One

A genuine smile takes two muscles to crinkle the eyes, two to pull up the lip corners and nose, two to elevate the mouth angle, and two to pull the mouth corners sideways. So is it fair to say: 12.
A fake smile, however, only takes two muscles. We detect the fake because "the eyes aren't smiling."
